Matsue Castle Spring Festival 2015

The Matsue Castle Grounds are famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot and have been, selected as one of the Top 100 cherry blossom spots in Japan. Cherry trees usually begin to blossom from the beginning of April, and typically last for only one week.Every year during this period, visitors are welcomed by about 220 cherry trees in full bloom. At night, guests can also enjoy the view of the trees being illuminated until 9pm.
In the castle keep, visitors can try Japanese style tea and Sakura-mochi, a spring version of the Japanese confectionary, which uses cherry blossoms as an ingredient, while viewing the blooming flowers.
Matsue Samurai Procession

Matsue Musha Gyoretsu shows how the founder of establishing Matsue made a triumphal entry into Matsue Castle. Over 200 people dressed as samurais or princesses march through the castle town of Matsue in blooming cherry blossums.
Cherry blossom Festival in Un-nan City

The main venue of the festival is known as one of the Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom spots. Rows of about 800 cherry trees in full bloom are just breathtaking. During the term, the town is colored with 50,000 of cherry blossom’s tender pink and they are beautifully lit up at night.

Several events take place around the site, and visitors can enjoy local specialties.

Tulip Festival in Hakuta-cho
Date : 19th April 2015 (10:00 ~ 16:00)

About six-hundred thousand colorful tulips bloom in mid-April. Tulips can be purchased, and stage events, flea market also take place.
