A Travel Itinerary for Shimane is on osaka-info!

The popular tourism website osaka-info, managed by the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, has released an article on a four day/three night travel itinerary that compiles the charms of Shimane's culture, scenery, and cuisine.
Day one takes you to Izumo, home to many historical sites and linked to Japan's mythology. It introduces Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, one of Japan's oldest shrines, as well as routes to famous restaurants for Izumo soba/souvenir shops, popular auberges, and more.
On day two you travel to Matsue, where you can marvel at the remains of the castle town. The itinerary is packed with traditional Japanese culture and the sites of Matsue, such as Matsue Castle, a national treasure, Lake Shinji, one of the top 100 sunset spots in Japan, and long-standing ryokans in the famous hot spring area of Tamatsukuri Onsen.
Days three and four of the itinerary take you to Shimane's famous artistic and photogenic spots, particularly Adachi Museum of Art, which conveys the beauty of Japanese gardens to the world, as well as hot spring inns where you can enjoy the gourmet of Shimane's mountains and sea.
