【Entry Fee】

An autumn cycling event to enjoy the unique nature circumstance at “Shimane Peninsula”, formed by a major tectonic movement.

There are two courses of 97.5km (long), and 61km (short), and both routes have magnificent views of the Japan Sea and Nakaumi Lake.

5 aide stations are located on the course and provide local delicacies at each station.

Short Course : 61km / 6,000 yen

The location “Yunotsu”, is an historical hot spring site which is said to have been founded approximately 1300 years ago.

The big scale of the Iwami Region’s rich nature and the historical scenery welcome cyclists.

Have delicious BBQ after the enjoyment of the local delicacies and scenery!

Come and enjoy late autumn Iwami cycling with friends and family!

Long 78km : Intermediate  6,000 yen

Middle 64km : Intermediate – Beginner  6,000 yen

Short 50km : Beginner  5,500 yen

This is a contactless digital stamp rally, visiting the stamp points by cycling, running or walking as you like. Enjoy observing the waterfowl of Nakaumi Lake and the scenery.

You are able to enter the raffle for the special prize by collecting enough digital points from answering the quiz at the stamp points.

Anyone can participate with smart phone or tablet!

The cycling event to fully explore Izumo Area. 

Starting in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture, the course goes around Shinji Lake to visit Izumo City and Unnan City, then returns to Matsue along the Japan Sea via the Nakaumi Lake.

Time limit is set as 10h 30mins. with plenty of time for the 160km course.

The event is held in Iinan-cho and Misato-cho, all the cycle lovers can fully enjoy the cycle race on good quality road surrounded by the beautiful nature of Chugoku Mountains.

It is also for the area to get recognized as a hill climb spot and bring more cyclists to come and visit.

Chugoku Region 5 Prefectures Cycling Photo Contest 

Ride and take photos! in Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, Hiroshima and Yamaguchi!

A photo contest on Instagram with the theme of “the scenery and tourist spots in Chugoku Region 5 prefectures encountered while cycling”, by the Chugoku Region 5 prefectures (Tottori Prefecture, Shimane Prefecture, Okayama Prefecture, Hiroshima Prefecture, Yamaguchi Prefecture) in cooperation.

Post the photos which make us want to come and visit by bicycle!

Follow “Tokyo Camera Club” campaign account on Instagram, then post the photo tagged with “#中国地方サイクリングフォトコンテスト (Chugoku Region Cycling Photo Contest) “ and also tag with the name of prefecture where the photo was taken (e.g. “#島根県 (Shimane Prefecture)”.

*Photos taken in the past are also welcome.

This classic popular event of Shimane Prefecture will take place for the 17th time this year.

All courses will climb up the road to Sanbe on the way to the goal.

The long course is laid as tough as always, and the middle course is also the same as usual.      

This year a new 122km course with gentle ups and downs is added to go with the tougher ones. This is to welcome more cyclists to come and experience the Iwami Area and hopefully becoming the future returners.     

The long course participants will be automatically diverted to the middle course if they arrive after the 14:00 cut off at the 4th aide (Dangyo-kei Gorge).  Likewise, participants of all the courses will be transferred to the 7th aide (Sanbe Nishinohara Field) by the official vehicles if they arrive after 15:45 at the 6th aide.
