A learning facility where you can see and learn about real Japanese giant salamanders, a special national treasure
Giant salamanders, which are considered a special national treasure, are affectionately referred to as hanzake in Ohnan. At the Hanzake Nature Museum of Mizuho, it is possible to see real specimens. The museum also showcases the strange ecology of various hanzake that is not normally possible to witness.
