The biggest fireworks spectacle over Lake Shinji!
Launched over Lake Shinji, fireworks light up the night sky as spectators watch from the shoreline. As the event is in the height of summer, spectators don their colorful yukatas to beat the summer heat. And this is also the time when food stalls line the streets that fill the air with the smell of the staple summer festival foods. *Ahh the smell of karaage chicken and yakisoba noodles…* (unfortunately no food booths will be open this year)
This year’s fireworks extravaganza will take place over two nights featuring 13,500 fireworks!
*Eating and drinking (alcohol) will not be allowed around the lakeside due to coronavirus safety reasons.
