Savor a cup of green tea in Lord Matsudaira's beloved tea house
Designed to the taste of the 7th feudal lord of Matsue, Harusato Matsudaira (Fumai), Meimei-an Tea House sets on a low hill and is renowned for its thickly thatched East Asian hip-and-gable roof with a superb view of Matsue Castle. Fumai was a famed tea master in the late 18th century and developed the Fumai-ryu style of tea ceremony. Green tea and wagashi(Japanese confectionary) are served in the adjoining tea room while enjoying the view over the tea house and gardens.
