Matsue Shrine is located within Matsue Jozan Park, and it enshrines daimyo and eminent figures from the former Matsue feudal domain. Matsue Castle can be seen from the quiet and quaint shrine. It is a shrine with history, and has been loved by locals since ancient times. Visitors love to buy the shrine’s heart-shaped votive picture tablets at the tourist information center, and then offer them at the shrine after writing prayers for love on them. Regular festivals are held at the shrine on May 5 and November 5 every year.
