While the transmission of traditional crafts has become an issue in many parts of Japan, Iwami Kagura is a traditional culture that is popular among young people and firmly rooted in the community.
The stories based on ancient Japanese mythology, glittering costumes, colorful serpents, and exaggerated masks make it easy to feel the storyline even if the words are not conveyed.
Interaction with the performers is another major attraction of this experience. Through interaction, you will learn that they perform as a family and how much they love kagura!
